The Angel Oak on Johns' Island near Charleston, South Carolina is believed to be between 500 and 1500 years old, making it one of the oldest live oaks in the country. The height of the tree is 65 feet, however, the shaded area covered by its foliage extends over 17,000 square feet. The longest branch is almost two hundred feet.

Willie Harper is a professional freelance photographer in Greenville County, South Carolina. He is a US Army veteran, a retired law enforcement officer, and a former CALEA Assessor (Commission on Accreditation for law enforcement agencies). His formal education includes Greenville Technical College, South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, Southern Wesleyan University, and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Intrigued after receiving a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye camera as a very young teenager, he fell in love with photography.
