Old Faithful, named by members of the 1870 Washburn Expedition, was once called “Eternity’s Timepiece” because of the regularity of its eruptions. Despite the myth, this geyser has never erupted at exact hourly intervals, nor is it the largest or most regular geyser in Yellowstone National Park. It does, however, erupt more frequently than any other of the large geysers. With about 300 active geysers, this area has the largest concentration of geysers in the world.
About Willie Harper
Willie Harper is a professional freelance photographer in Greenville County, South Carolina. He is a US Army veteran, a retired law enforcement officer, and a former CALEA Assessor (Commission on Accreditation for law enforcement agencies). His formal education includes Greenville Technical College, South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, Southern Wesleyan University, and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Intrigued after receiving a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye camera as a very young teenager, he fell in love with photography. At eighteen, he purchased his first professional camera in Korea while serving in the army. Photography was part-time until he retired.
